Insight Policy Research and the American Institutes for Research published a brief in July 2020 related to improving student engagement and attendance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The document highlights six lessons learned during the early stages of districts' digital learning strategies. The authors reviewed the research literature and interviewed administrators from six geographically and demographically diverse LEAs.
The document closes with four approaches to remote learning and four themes that emerged when interviewing district leaders.
The Title IV, Part A team provides the following links to acquaint LEA coordinators with changes to the Equitable Services program in FY21.
LEAs must specify in the budget line item description whether the strategy/intervention is supported by a strong, moderate, or promising evidence base or demonstrates a rationale that is documented by a logic model on file with the LEA. This requirement applies to these budget function codes:
1000, 2100, 2210, 2213, 2400, 2900.
Establishing an evidence-based intervention often applies to strategies and intervention.
However, some expenditures (e.g., program administration, personnel benefits) do not require an evidence level.
