2019 General Assembly Session Information

Dear Colleagues,

The 2018 Georgia General Assembly created several House and Senate Study Committees. The following includes the study committee reports related to education. Legislation during the 2019 General Assembly Session will include many of the recommendations from the committee reports.

  • Senate Study Committee on Evaluating the School Year Calendar of Georgia Public Schools (The final report is pending edits from the Senate Research Office – recommendations are expected to include mandating school calendar start dates no earlier than two weeks before Labor Day)
  • House of Representatives Study Committee on School Accreditation (The Committee held no hearings and scheduled no meetings.)
  • Senate Study Committee on School System Accreditation (The Committee held no hearings and scheduled no meetings.)
